Mardanggich (Kakadu plum) Spice Mix
Our Mardanggich Spice Mix, developed with Melbourne based-company Outback Chef, is the first product made in Maningrida with locally harvested bush foods.
Mardanggich is the Burarra Word for Kakadu Plum. The plums grow in abundance in remote western Arnhem Land and have been used as a food source and a bush medicine for thousands of years in our region.
The plums used to make the spice have been handpicked by the land owners on their countries around Maningrida.
The spice is made in Maningrida, ensuring all sales of this product benefit directly the community of Maningrida. We invite you to taste this community favourite top end spice!
Use as a rub or dry marinade for meats or to create a spicy curry with fish, chicken or vegetables.
